Commission Process and Policies
Availability and Approach
I accept commissions on a limited basis, with the understanding that it may take approximately three to four months to complete a painting. My willingness to take on new commissions depends on my genuine interest in the subject matter; I prefer to work on projects that inspire me. Typically, I have three to four paintings in progress at various stages of development. I’ll make every effort to incorporate your painting into my ongoing schedule.
Concept Development
Once I accept your commission, I will create a concept drawing or a computer rendering that outlines the basic elements of the painting. Work on the actual painting will only begin after you have reviewed and approved this concept. You may be asked to provide photographs or other reference materials for the subject you would like painted. Alternatively, we can utilize my extensive reference library to find suitable resources.
Communication and Progress Updates
Throughout the painting process, I will maintain open communication with you regarding the progress of your piece. I will consult with you about any proposed changes to the concept, such as adding or removing objects (trees, rocks, animals, buildings, etc.), adjusting color schemes, or modifying the canvas configuration. Your input is important to ensure the final painting aligns with your vision.
Satisfaction Guarantee and Payment Terms
Customer satisfaction is a top priority for me. If you are not completely satisfied with the finished painting, you may return it undamaged within 30 days for a full refund. Payment is structured as follows: a 25% deposit is required before I begin the concept stage, another 25% is due when I start painting, and the remaining balance is payable upon completion of the work.
Pricing
The price for commission work is negotiable and determined based on the size and complexity of the piece.
